Taylor Mason was hilarious last night at the Moorlyn Family Theatre in Ocean City, N.J. For more than an hour, he had us laughing continually with his impressive ventriloquism (using an assortment of cleverly made hand puppets), music (he's an excellent keyboardist and song parodist), and other comedy. As terrific as he is with all that, he's also one of the best ad libbers I've ever seen. He can recall and then riff on virtually anything spontaneously said to and by his audience. It's a rare, underappreciated talent, and he has it in abundance.
I cannot urge you strongly enough to take yourselves and your kids on an upcoming Thursday night (starting at 8:15) to the Moorlyn Family Theatre in Ocean City to catch Taylor Mason perform. The theatre is just a few steps away from the main boardwalk, so you can make a family night of it.
Mason is taylor-made for laughter. (He'd wince at that pun and then riff on it.) GO!
